After losing last week to the Bluegrass Revolution, the Columbus Cranes no longer controlled their playoff hopes.
While the Cranes (5-7) need either the Revolution or the Indy Alleycats to lose two games in the upcoming weeks, a win tomorrow afternoon against the Detroit Mechanix (5-8) will keep Columbus in the playoff discussion.
Detroit enters the game coming off their biggest win of the season last week, when they stole a win on the league-leading Philadelphia Spinners’ home soil, 23-22.
The Cranes lead the season series over the Mechanix, 2-1, but each of the three games have been decided by six or less points. Columbus took the last meeting, 30-25.
As of Week 10, Detroit’s David Hochhalter was fifth in the league in assists per game, with 4.5, while Columbus’ Timmy Meyers stood fifth in goals with 3.56.
